Computer Aided Design These 3D models were created in Sketchup. It is a fairly simple creation of my final project but it does depict what my project will be. I understand that my CAD skills need much work; however, I am very excited to be able to create a desired image using this design software. This is just my first idea of my final project. Minus the rails, everything else is probably going to be modified. Im still planning the exact design style I want to stick with (i.e. - futuristic, plain, or retro design, etc). All that I am sure of right now is that my machine will allow for sliding across the width of a ping pong table (x axis). It has been expressed throughout my lab that working in Sketchup is an extreme headache but I feel differently about it. I find it fairly manageable to design the objects that I want it to design. I think that if a person has enough patience to sit there and fight through the minor design limitations of Sketchup then one would be able to create some nice designs.
